NEW TRIP OPTION
Extend Your Fishing Trip
Book our 5-hour half-day fishing charter and extend your trip to 7 hours while you are on the water. If the conditions are good and you would like more fishing time, just ask Captain Matt. Extensions are available based on the day’s schedule and require an additional fee.
Find the Right Trip for Your Group
Beginners and Kids Fishing Trip
The three-hour trip is a practical starting point for first-time anglers, families, and younger guests. The shorter duration gives your group time to fish without committing to a longer day on the water.
5-Hour Half-Day Fishing Charter
The half-day charter gives Captain Matt more time to adjust the plan, try different areas, and respond to the conditions that day. This option is a good fit for guests who want more time to fish and a wider range of possibilities during the trip.
The charter may be extended to seven hours while you are on the water. Extensions depend on the day’s schedule and require an additional fee.
Evening Light Gear Fishing Trip
The two-hour evening trip offers light tackle fishing later in the day. It is a good choice for guests looking for a shorter private trip with sunset views.

What's Included With Every Charter?
Every private fishing charter includes everything you need for a successful day on the water.
Private charter for up to 3 guests
Captain Matt as your guide
Rods, reels, bait and tackle
Safety equipment and life jackets
Personalized instruction for beginners
Local knowledge of fishing conditions

Why Choose a Private Fishing Charter?
Your group has the boat to itself. You will not share the charter with unrelated passengers or wait for a larger group to take turns fishing.
The small-group setup gives Captain Matt more time to help beginners, work with younger anglers, and adjust the trip around your group. It also allows the fishing plan to change when conditions or recent fish activity point to a better opportunity.
FAQ
🎣 Fishing License & Regulations
Hawai‘i residents don’t need a license. Nonresidents must get a marine fishing license ($20/week). You can apply online at dlnr.hawaii.gov/dar/licenses-permits
Licenses are not included. All nonresidents must purchase their own license directly through the state’s website.
Nonresidents planning to fish in Hawaiian waters should purchase their Hawai‘i marine fishing license before the day of the charter.
If you're a nonresident and forgot to get your license, don’t worry — the Hawai‘i marine fishing license can be purchased online in just a few minutes. All you need is your contact info and payment method.
🌤️ Weather, Time & Group Planning
Weather in Hawai‘i can change quickly. If ocean conditions are unsafe, we’ll reschedule your charter. If that’s not possible, you’ll receive a full refund — no cancellation fees.
Early mornings are ideal for deep sea species like Mahi Mahi and Tuna. The ocean is often calmer and fish are more active, but good fishing can happen any time — our captain adjusts based on tides and seasonal conditions.
We accommodate up to 3 anglers per charter, with a maximum group weight of 600 lbs. We keep things small for a more personal experience.
Yes, kids ages 7 and up are welcome, and we offer beginner-friendly trips. Whether it’s your first time or you’re bringing the kids, we’ll guide you from setup to reel-in. Check out Beginners and Kids Fishing Charter
We recommend wearing sunscreen, bringing a hat, and packing your own drinks/snacks. Don’t forget your license if you’re a nonresident.
🚤 Arrival & Meeting Info
Please arrive 15–20 minutes before departure so we can load up and get you set up with gear.
All trips depart from Haleiwa Harbor on Oʻahu’s North Shore. We’ll email parking info and detailed meetup instructions the day before. Captain Matt will personally confirm pickup details by phone as well.

🐟 Fish Policy: Catch Info
It depends on your charter:
-
Beginner and Kids charter: No take-home fish
-
5 hour charter: Up to 25 lb of whole fish
-
7 hour charter: Up to 35 lb of whole fish
-
Evening charter: No take-home fish
Note: We do not cut or clean fish over 50 lb. All weight limits refer to whole fish.
-
Although it rarely happens, there’s no guarantee in fishing. Conditions like weather, tides, moon cycles, or fish migration can impact the bite. We always do our best to get you on fish and give you a great experience — but sometimes nature has its own plan.
We recommend freezing your fish and packing it in an insulated cooler or fish box (available at local markets or shipping services). We do not provide shipping or packaging.
